Rejuvenation Association on Hyperbaric Therapy

The World Association of Anti-Aging and Rejuvenation is an age management center located in Mexico offering regenerative medicine treatments including hyperbaric therapy.

Hyperbaric therapy is also known as “hyperbaric oxygen therapy”. It involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized room or tube.
It can be compared has the process used during scuba diving!

How does it work?

By delivering a high concentration of oxygen to injured tissues or areas, hyperbaric therapy increases the amount of oxygen in your bloodstream. Therefore, it restores normal levels of blood gases and tissue function to promote healing and fight infection.

The Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society set up in 1967 defines this therapy as:

An intervention in which an individual breathes near 100% oxygen intermittently while inside a hyperbaric chamber that is pressurized to greater than sea level pressure

Indeed, the ambient pressure inside the chamber is – at the highest level- three times higher than the air pressure that people normally breathe. Therefore, the concentration of oxygen available to the lungs is three times higher than the normal because the increased pressure encourages the oxygen to enter in all our bloody fluids (blood plasma, lymph, cerebrospinal fluid)!

Obviously, different levels of air pressure (low or medium) exist depending on which diseases you want to cure or improvements that you want to see.

When the therapy takes place into a room, the person usually lies on a table that slides into a clear plastic tube. Doctor will recommend a certain number of sessions, depending on a person’s condition. As an example, for some people with carbon monoxide poisoning, one session is enough.

What are the benefits?

Hyperbaric therapy is a well-established medicine used for serious infections. Indeed, the Canadian government has recognized it as an effective treatment for 14 specific conditions which includes:

  • Embolisms (air or gas bubbles in your blood vessels)
  • Carbon monoxide poisoning
  • Enhancement of healing wounds
  • Blood loss (anemia)
  • Bone infection

This kind of therapy helps wound healing by bringing oxygen to tissue starved for oxygen. By damaging the body’s blood vessels, wound injuries release fluid that leaks into the tissues and causes swelling. Swelling deprives the damaged cells of oxygen and tissues start to die, that’s why hyperbaric therapy restores the tissues through oxygen provision.

This therapy strengthens the body’s immune system. By increasing oxygen concentration in the tissue, the therapy can disable the toxins of certain bacteria. It helps them resist infection.

This therapy encourages the formations of new collagen and new skin.

Hyperbaric therapy is also very effective for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, multiple sclerosis, stroke sequelae, cancer, traumatic brain injury and stress disorder which can be qualified as age related diseases!

Hyperbaric therapy is a fountain of youth!

Clinical studies have demonstrated the benefits of hyperbaric sessions for age-related degenerative conditions by providing cellular aid to all organs in the body to promote health and beauty.

As an example, hyperbaric therapy has been showed very useful for Alzheimer by creating new brain cells and new brain connections. It improves memory and reaction time.

It can also benefit to the heart by improving heart muscle functioning after a heart attack. It reduces risk of heart attack as well by improving oxygenation to cardiac tissues.

Mild or lower pressure hyperbaric oxygen therapy as able to demonstrate a marked reduction in Parkinson’s Disease symptoms in just 11 weeks. Parkinson disease is due to degeneration of dopamine-production neuronal cells. Hyperbaric therapy was able to protect the dopaminergic neurons from further loss!

It also protects arthritic joints. During the various stage of arthritis, the joints and surrounding tissue are in constant attack from oxidation stressors and inflammatory reactions. Only 3 weeks of hyperbaric therapy had a protective effect can have a protective effect on these joints.
